I am often asked which person living today I would rank in the same category as those I have written about as a biographer: Leonardo da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, Ada Lovelace, Steve Jobs and Albert Einstein. They were all very smart. But that is not what made them special. Smart people are very common and often don't succeed. What matters is being creative and having imagination. That is what makes someone a true innovator. And that is why my answer to that question is: Jeff Bezos.
